Why is when i use the "New" teams, my taskbar doesnt show status just says "new"

I actually just found this link to known issues and I think this should update in November.

I have the same issue. I also could right click on the icon in the taskbar and change my status but now there is no option. Is this a glitch or will there not be a way to quickly see and change my status via the taskbar?

When Teams is active, you can set your status from the Taskbar, even when you're working in another app.

1. In the Taskbar, hover over the Teams icon   .
2. When the Teams thumbnail image shows, select the status to display.

Hello, this LITERALLY does not answer the question. We want to see our "Available" and "Away" checkmark status on the taskbar. Having "New" there does nothing for the users. Can you please tell Microsoft to fix this?

I went under Settings-->General-->System section and checked "Register the new Teams as the chat app for Microsoft 365 (requires restarting Microsoft 365 applications)".

After a computer restart, I got my first message notification in "new Teams." Maybe this is success?
