Why is when i use the "New" teams, my taskbar doesnt show status just says "new"

I'm Still using the old teams so it displays my status since I haven't found a solution to get rid of the New label on my taskbar.

Same problem as others. The green "new" label never goes away in the system tray. Works fine on the taskbar, but if I close the window teams disappears from the taskbar and I use the one in the tray to let me know if I have any messages pending.

Is there any fix for this yet, or do I need to go back to classic teams for that functionality? I rely on having the icon change in the tray to let me know I have unread messages.

This is exactly why I had to go back to the old Teams. I keep missing many calls as I'm busy working on one screen, and, when I go to the other screen to check on my Teams status in the system tray, all I see is "New" for the version, no status. I have to actually open Teams fully to see if there are any messages waiting for me. It was just plain dumb that Microsoft did not include "Show and set presence in system tray" before releasing the new Teams. Microsoft, are you reading this?
