Unable to Create a "General" Channel from Scratch in Teams Desktop

I encountered an issue when trying to create a new team from scratch in the desktop version of Teams. It seems that naming the first channel has become a mandatory step. However, I am unable to name the channel "General" as it shows the message: "The name General is reserved. Try another name."

Could anyone please advise on how to create a "General" channel from scratch in the desktop version of Teams? Is there a workaround for this restriction?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Yes, it is fixed on my tenant too and a couple of client's tenants I've been able to test.

Now when you are in the field where you can choose your first channel's name, you can either enter General (no errors) or you clic on the tree dots to the right of the field and pick the option that will set the name to General and also will make this first channel appear the first in the list of channels.

It has taken ages and been a real pain but the fix is pretty good.

No fix yet, nobody said so. It's supposed to be fixed this month, but no news yet.
