Contacts tab missing in new Teams

Hi

I installed the new Teams and now I can't find my contacts list.

When I am in the call menu, there was a tab with all my contacts. This is now missing.

Please see the attached image.

    As everyone here, I have the same problem, at least having the status of the 30 persons in 5 different teams I'm working with in the 3000 of my society is not just a nice to have ... I'm loosing the most important way for me to know who's available and can be called.

    All the proposed workaround give us a part of the behaviour and are not enough to help us in our every day work.

    @Microsoft, please help us and make this functionality back !

    Contacts tab is very important to my workflow. I am switching back to old version.

    To echo everyone's sentiments here, the Contacts tab is very important to my workflow and I'm honestly puzzled as to why they got rid of that feature in the new version. Switched back to the old version immediately for my Contacts tab.

    I'm going to ask those here - is there a way to pin "people"? As soon as I click on chat, it disappears. I actually like the new category setup, and have been splitting up my categories and putting people in multiple categories, which can be shown is the matrix.

    My problem is that I cannot pin it, and that - of course - the inability to see status.

    Is the first problem universal, or is the issue the local settings?
