I'd like to group chats together, not people.
I know this has been asked before, but the solution provided is not working anymore.
I get both personal chat messages and group chats chat messages from several hundred people and would like to categorize them to find, e.g. all messages from a certain group. I found that I can make Contact Groups, which means I can group several contacts into one group, but I cannot add "group chats" to such a contact group. How do I do this? thanks.

Can you please elaborate on "custom folders or labels outside Teams to organise chats"?
outside teams? Does that mean another app?
The problem with channels is that they're too heavy.
Chats:
- Begin typing
- hit send
Channel
- Click on start post
- enter title
- type in content
- hit send
Would prefer that a channel behaves like a chat, in that a thread doesn't need to be titled, and a thread is just a reply on a message.
Need max reduction in clicking and mouse movement.
This reply nailed it. This is exactly why no one in my org in the company uses the "Teams" section and just uses the chats. If I have to come up with a title every time I want to say something in the team channel, I'll just send an email. At least those I can organize into folders to quickly find them later.
Specifically:
- Need to create groupings of chats
- It is too limiting to only have Pinned vs. Unpinned
Same here - competition allows custom groups - personally I use: projects, incidents, tech, customers, admin, fun etc. to group chats together and be able to hide/open lists as I go.
Having just two options of pinned/recent is not very flexible.
Just here to bump this and second the suggestions (this should be bumped every day!)
Teams Channels are more for company wide general discussion.
My day to day focuses use on Chats, of which I have hundreds.
The filter settings are insufficient, as are the pinned chats max cap (pinned feature can stay however, but should be unlimited, why the limit?)
IK would like to see, grouping chats as a parent with children conversations and colour coding (coloured background for text, black text on faded colour). These can then be collapsed as necessary, with a notification on the parent.
