I am not able to copy and paste Teams message with Time and sender name

I also learned something NEW from my colleague, you could use the snipping tool and select new, screenshot and on the very top where it states Text, click and copy text. I feel like it's too much workaround, but it helps. They just need to allow us to copy and paste I use it for work purposes and screenshots are not allowed.

I gave up a long time ago with standard text copy and have been taking mostly screenshots since.

The workaround quit working in the desktop app for me 2025-02-21 ~1310CT.

I did find that I could open Teams in a web browser (using Opera for this) - and, am still able to use the terrible copy trick from there in order to get the information I need. (terrible copy trick = having to use mouse to highlight & hold text while you CTRL-C on your keyboard)

Even after a desktop app restart and multiple computer restarts/updates and several days, the copy trick is no longer working in the desktop app version.

My sincerest apologies for the inconvenience this might be causing you, after thorough testing, I got same situation as you. The Workaround I found is to hold mouse for selecting the message with Time and sender you want then use CTRL+C for copy and CTRL+V for paste. Therefore, I will update this thread as soon as I get more detail information about the query and fix.

Also, if you have the organization admin permission, you can also raise a service request to report this symptom to our online channel through the O365 admin center. A support agent can further connect with you remotely, for further troubleshooting and involve the backend team where need be. Is there an update on this? We are no longer able to use that feature CTRL+Cfor copy and CTRL+Vfor paste.
