Seven months later this is still an issue. My previous workaround also stopped working as of this week. This is an increasingly frustrating issue, especially since copy/pasting conversations into other notes is a significant part of my workflows. Please fix this.

Microsoft Teams is trash. Ever since this update to supposedly remove clutter it has created a nightmare for me where I have a lengthy chat log I provide to my usergroup and no one who says what. I hate Microsoft for this. You can't even highlight all the chat in the chat log to copy, it chooses how much of it gets highlighted and never preserves the point you started off with highlighting so you have to find the point where you left off. NIGHTMARE. I tell the 2000 users in the group every month how horrible Microsoft is for this. Zoom for 10 years automatically sends you an email with the chat log. No option for that in Teams, only 2 hours worth of worth to copy and paste. Co-Pilot can't even understand the problem I am asking it for help on. I curse Microsoft for making my life hell!

This issue appears to have been reported to Microsoft by numerous people and directly via service requests. Your suggestions do not work and are not a solution or good workaround!

The format when holding the mouse button still after selecting text and then Ctrl C and Crtl V is awful and you have to go back and edit it so that it is in a readable format. This is not a workaround as it creates more work and wastes time.

Just bring back the way it was before and save us all time and effort.

only way around this at the minute to preserve the formatting is to use the Snip & Sketch tool and post as images - still not really acceptable

    Tyler Theobald

Prior to this not working, I read many articles where people were asking to not have sender & time pasted.

Some say because if the sender is posting code in multiple postings to the chat, copying the code copies the sender & time (and summary lines) which they have to be removed from the pasted code.

Why people post code in a chat, except to discuss it, "will this work?" is not meant to be. Paste the code file into the Files part of Teams is how they should do it.

Why MS didn't give people the option to copy / not copy sender & time is what pisses me off.

In other words, it's not a bug, it's something people asked for. The problem being that those who used it as it was, weren't asked if they liked it the way "it worked".

And yes, this isn't the place to report bugs. It's a discussion board, is it not?
