Export a Wiki to a OneNote notebook says,

Export a Wiki to OneNote - In Teams, go to the standard channel whose Wiki you want to export. - On the wiki banner, select Get details. Select Export to Notes, and then select Finish.

What is the wiki banner?

Where do you find Get details?

Where do you Select Export to Notes?

I have access to Teams that have had Wiki pages for ages and I have added new Wiki pages to my test team, created today. "Get details", and, "Select Export to Notes", don't appear anywhere

Any ideas?

Hello Guy,

The explanation why some are not seeing any of that which Microsoft is suggesting is simply because it is not available for everyone just YET. They recently started rolling this out, and it won't be available for everyone everywhere at the same time!

To be fair, the instructions page does mention "Coming soon".

This is what the "banner" will look like:

So, it will be a banner below the menu bar with a tannish background color and a button on the righthand side reading "Get details".

And here's a screenshot of what the export tool will look like, with the "Export to Notes" button:

As depicted in these two steps in Microsoft's instructions:

  1. In Teams, go to the standard channel whose Wiki you want to export.
  2. On thewikibanner, selectGet details*. SelectExport to Notes, and then selectFinish.*

Also, the message in the Message Center (of the Microsoft 365 Admin Center) contains this subtle hint at the end:

"We urge users to export their channel wikis to OneNote once it is available."

    Hi Alvaro,

    Exactly right!! That is exactly my position. We already have Wiki in use. Wiki is going. I am trying to help all my Teams migrate their Wiki pages into OneNote. Microsoft say this is possible. But the process they describe does not match what happens in our Teams

    It's possible that the Export to Notes feature may not be available for your organization or may not be enabled in your Teams settings. You may want to check with your IT department or Teams admin to confirm.

    Alternatively, you can try exporting the Wiki content to a file and then importing it into OneNote. To do this:

    • In Teams, go to the Wiki you want to export and click on the three dots (...) at the top right corner of the page.
    • Select "Export wiki" from the dropdown menu and save the file to your computer.
    • Open OneNote and create a new notebook.
    • Click on the "Insert" tab and select "File Printout".
    • Browse to the location where you saved the exported Wiki file and select it.
    • OneNote will import the file and create a new section for each Wiki page.

    Please note that this method may not preserve the formatting and links of the original Wiki content.
