Export a Wiki to a OneNote notebook says,

Export a Wiki to OneNote - In Teams, go to the standard channel whose Wiki you want to export. - On the wiki banner, select Get details. Select Export to Notes, and then select Finish.

What is the wiki banner?

Where do you find Get details?

Where do you Select Export to Notes?

I have access to Teams that have had Wiki pages for ages and I have added new Wiki pages to my test team, created today. "Get details", and, "Select Export to Notes", don't appear anywhere

Any ideas?

Hello Guy,

The explanation why some are not seeing any of that which Microsoft is suggesting is simply because it is not available for everyone just YET. They recently started rolling this out, and it won't be available for everyone everywhere at the same time!

To be fair, the instructions page does mention "Coming soon".

This is what the "banner" will look like:

So, it will be a banner below the menu bar with a tannish background color and a button on the righthand side reading "Get details".

And here's a screenshot of what the export tool will look like, with the "Export to Notes" button:

As depicted in these two steps in Microsoft's instructions:

  1. In Teams, go to the standard channel whose Wiki you want to export.
  2. On thewikibanner, selectGet details*. SelectExport to Notes, and then selectFinish.*

Also, the message in the Message Center (of the Microsoft 365 Admin Center) contains this subtle hint at the end:

"We urge users to export their channel wikis to OneNote once it is available."

    Same issue 9 months later. Customers receive messages from Teams Wiki that we need to integrate Wiki to Notes; when we do, nothing happens, the note is blank, and you can't do anything.

    The problem with that is it looks like it puts them in read only and doesn't allow you to modify or copy over to something else, say word in a graceful way, nor does it retain the images.

    The other problem, both wiki and the ability to see them through notes is not an option for the "New Teams" version that is out. Which i have a feeling they will be making us all move to come 2024. Note, the wiki add on it an option but nothing in there to actually migrate over, not sure why, but maybe because the "new" version is potentially in bata (not sure if that is accurate or not).

    So this might work for a short term solution to retrieve the info, it is still is making it harder to obtain your teams information that is uses hourly/daily :(

    My teammate discovered a new wiki app that's available from the Apps in Teams. In the left hand nav of Microsoft Teams, click on the 3 dots (...) and it will drop down a selection of apps you can pin to your left hand navigation in Teams. Wiki is one of them. Some of my teammates actually have the wiki tabs directing them to this app. I haven't received the update for that yet so when I click on a wiki tab, I'm still getting the banner that says the wikis are going away in Oct. We never converted to OneNote as that was not a viable solution for how we use the wikis. I haven't been able find anything in the Microsoft site about the Wiki app but it does say it was created by Microsoft. No clue how long it will be available.

    After clicking on the Wiki app, it will default to the Personal tab. You can get to all of your channel's wikis in the All tab. Please note the channel wikis are ordered to mirror the order of your channels in Teams. Hope this helps.

    So you do that, then it goes to "Your wiki content is now in Notes" then there is a "Go to Notes" button in blue, but when you click it nothing happens, i mean nothing and now the page is blank. how do you get that info back. Whoever thought this was a good idea needs to be fires. The Wiki tab was one of the most helpful tabs i have ever used on a teams channel, such a pitty.
