How To Prevent Enter Key From Sending Chat Message

I am often working in other windows but have a lot of teams messages that I need to address. This results in my sending meaningless messages accidentally when I hit ENTER thinking I am in a different window but I am really in teams. How do I by default prevent the ENTER button from sending a message?

Do not assume that the person you are talking to is stupid, just because you can not find/see what this person is talking about.

Do not try to patronize me !

I am a standard user trying to point out that there is a workaround and I did not use technical jargon.

Like the majority of Teams users, I use the app installed on a Windows PC . I don't think I need to give my Windows version, PC brand and serial number, etc... when the person who initially asked the question did not specify anything.

If you don't like my post, jut read the next one, I am not going to edit it mine. I will simply add a screenshot here to show you where the A with a pen is 😉

No, I don't see an A next to a pen anywhere. The symbol you are talking about is that of the upload icon that looks like this:

I don't know how you could mistake that for an A unless you are using some none standard interface that can't handle all the icons on some nonstandard version of an OS that can't handle icons. Or you need to update your system,

So the next time you want to answer a question you need to:

    1-Avoid ANY using technical jargon.
    2-Consider attaching a screenshot
3- specify the specification under which the screenshot was taken, i.e.: OS, Character especially when it is not standard.

You would have saved yourself a lot of frustrated responders.
So you may want to edit your answer now.

BTW, it is almost the perfect solution but still the expectation is something in the setting as in other webwares.

The amount of times I've sent messages accidentally b/c my pinky was reaching for quotations and also grazed Enter is insane. I shortcut using Ctrl + Shift + X to quickly open the editing function, but this is NOT a solution. This is clearly functionality geared towards formatting and not the correct answer for users. I recommend that everyone who finds this votes on this topic which requests a setting to disable Enter=Send https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/9ebae341-4ebe-ed11-83ff-000d3a1f8608

It's remarkably easy to code a user setting that disables that function and many other apps already offer that feature.
