replacing close/min/max buttons when screen sharing on macos?

Note that if you share a specific window (instead of the whole screen), that specific window will still have the new sharing icon/button. This is because Apple wants it to be super clear what window is being shared.The fact that this showed up on all windows for a period of time was due to a bug resulting from changes in the underlying macOS API.

What I can never understand is why microsoft always has to do things differently than how everyone else... everywhere... does things.

Its almost like they've asked a pair of goldfish to design an airplane (things that have never been out of water, to design a craft for flying).

Why replace any window chrome at all??? what about the red ( / green / blue / whatever color people are less blind to, etc.) border to designate the shared... screen / window / etc. instead of impeding peoples ability to use their operating system.

This is analogous to microsoft removing all windows borders on a microsoft platform when sharing a window or screen (not that I think ms would consider user experience to their UX design at all... but)... think how your users might react to that...

I've reported this "defect" to Apple on each beta release of their operating system. Replacing *any* operating system level functionality like this shouldn't be possible in my opinion (but i don't work at apple so... they can do what they want, but I am a user and can give my feedback).

Slack, Discord, Google Meet (chrome), ...

I apologize for the delay in addressing this issue. We understand how frustrating it is when software changes disrupt your workflow.

The fix for this issue will reach all Teams users by the end of February. This will address the problem with the close, minimize, and maximize buttons being replaced during screen sharing on macOS. Note that if you share a specific window (instead of the whole screen), that specific window will still have the new sharing icon/button. This is because Apple wants it to be super clear what window is being shared.The fact that this showed up on all windows for a period of time was due to a bug resulting from changes in the underlying macOS API. The fix is now making its way to you.

I want to let you know that we really appreciate our Teams users and customers on Macs. Many of us at Microsoft use Macs every day. When Apple changes its approach to how certain things function on macOS, it can sometimes take a little longer than we would like to address resulting challenges. We are working closely with Apple to get better at this!

2 months since reporting this issue to Microsoft, still no answer..

Hey, we are customers here! And we are not happy!

To top it all off, now the teams bubble AFTER A VIDEO CALL remains open in the FINDER, in SAFARI, a bug that begins to modify the Mac system itself.

I have to restart the entire Mac, wasting time and money.

Where are the limits?

What a disaster Microsoft, what a shame that companies don't invest more in Apple and stop using MS altogether.

Please make this feature optional!!!
