Spell checking in multiple languages is not working in Microsoft Teams as described here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/check-your-spelling-in-multiple-languages-in-microsoft-teams-0e269374-0cac-4a22-a377-53f01e05a6d4

It has happened after the installing new Teams desktop app on my Windows 11 (details below). Setting in Teams -> Settings -> General -> Enable spell check (requires restarting Teams) is enabled and Teams was restarted.

Unfortunately clearing following directories did not solve the issue:

%temp%,

%appdata%\Microsoft\Teams

%localappdata%\SquirrelTemp,

My Teams version is:
You have Microsoft Teams version 23257.2620.2442.7817.

You've got the latest version. It was last updated on 10/17/2023.

The client version is 49/23092912307.

Hello Umar.

This is actually a Known issue for the New Teams : Language-aware spell checking is currently not available in the new Teams. The team is focusing on this issue with a high priority.

August 28th and this is still an issue.

I've tried all the suggestions here and some I found elsewhere. I even disabled automatic translation of Spanish to no avail.

Nearly eight months have elapsed and Microsoft has yet to deliver? This does not take into account the non-existent experience with Copilot Pro.

    High priority ?

It is not yet fixed. Multilingual spell checking simply does not work.

We should be allowed to select text and apply a language, as we do with Office programs or OneNote (even if the later is quite buggy).

Over the day, I write messages in 2-3 different languages, sometimes in the same message.

It is clear the multilanguage is not working for th New TEAMS on July, 2024 and it does not make sense to put in production a program with basic open issues.

But the worse than thar is to remove the old version and force the users to suffer the issues.

I have remove the spellchck option form TEAMS. It is impossible to work with all the chats underlined in red.... terrible...
