No chat notification sound after updating Teams to new version 23285.3809.2525.961 on Mac

Hi,
I have recently my Teams on Mac to new version "23285.3809.2525.961". Since the update, I am not getting any chat notification sound at all. I have checked all the relevent setting on micorosoft teams as well as in notification centre on Mac but no luck. Can anyone please help?

2023-12-11T12:54:21+00:00 doesn't change anything. which I think is as expected because I get the notification in the notification in MacOS' notification center but *no* sound. I do get other apps' notifications as well and all play a sound.

2023-12-13T19:26:29+00:00 The fix that allowed sounds for me for chats is that I had to turn on my Mac Sound Effects, which I do not like having on. I prefer to have a silent work environment EXCEPT when I am pinged for a chat or call, then I want to have a sound notify me. Tying this into mac sounds without a bypass makes this rather unfortunate. ALSO the sound chosen to be used is not a subtle sound and very annoying. AND it notifies even if you are in the chat with others, so when a whole team is updating while you are also updating, it is pinging like crazy.
I think I'm just going to go silent and build a new habit of checking my teams (on a separate window) periodically. Very annoying. OR just do like almost everyone else in the world is doing and just go back to classic teams.

2024-01-09T20:44:48+00:00 We just updated to the new Teams today and we are also experiencing this issue of no sound for chat messages when the banner message notification box is turned off. This is super frustrating! I tried the fix of turning off sound notifications, quitting, and turning them back on, but that did not fix it. I am on a windows laptop. Has anyone else been able to fix this?
