The latest version of NEW TEAMS, lets you change the notification sound. There's not a lot to choose from, but at least we're not stuck with the default now.
What I was pointing to was not Teams specific.
Its labeled as the Notification sound under the Windows heading
You wont find any Teams specific entries

Ditto. Absolutely hate the new Teams notification sound. The option appears to be to switch the whole system to using the windows sounds, rather than being able to adjust it in Teams. What is with the really harsh unnatural sounds overall?
This kind of used to work, except it was Instant Message Notification that you had to change to silent rather than Notification. Now my Instant Message Notification is still set to silent, but the instant messages still keep pinging. and some people are SO annoying with their 6 or 7 messages in a row instead of typing everything they want to say and sending one message.
I've looked at Notification sound and that's not the noise it makes every time there's a message so that's not the setting that relates to it. Where does it get that noise from? I want to delete it.
I don't want to turn all sound off, I want to hear when there's a call. just not that persistent ping ping from messages.
Since Teams was launched, the project owner wasn't visionary enough to add this functionality as a feature? If would have to seat for 8 to 11 hours a day, using Teams probably would've think about
The default Teams notification sound is pretty harsh.
