Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop 

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external 

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

    Not a solution but a workaround, posted several times in this thread:

    Open menu with three dots [ . . . ] at the bottom of chat panel (below editor), then close the menu by pressing Escape on keyboard.

    Since this is just the answers forum I suspect almost no Teams/Microsoft engineers look in this thread (even if Google has it near the top of search results). Can't tell where this problem should be reported to get to the right people.

    Now I have this problem with web version (solution with opening "..." menu under editbox and closing it with ESC works though!) - this is really terrible, chat editbox was always terrible, but this is new level.. MS, you should be ashamed

    My company went to Webex - I hated it.

    Eventually we went back to Teams so happy except this typing issue it is still happening....really.

    At least the JPG issue where you can not see the posted pictures has been fixed as that is why we moved in the first place.

    Is there any ETA for a resolution of this?

    Repeatedly having to quit MS Teams because it doesn't work properly is unhelpful at best...
