Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

This happens with mine as well but only with the Docked Window. If I double click a person and have the pop out window or use the pop out icon in the upper right the arrow keys will work for me in the new window. The window docked with the chat history or contacts does not work unless I restart the program.

the quickest workaround for me is to click on "pop out chat" at the top right corner and continue the chat from there...

I have the same problem in some bulletin board forums when I write a 'wink' smiley (;)), then suddenly I'm unable to use the right/left arrow keys and everything else works OK. I thought this was the same problem, but I didn't write any smiley's..

Do we have any solution to this except to restart the Teams?!

The problem happens quite often and I can confirm that restarting the app "Resolves" this until it start to happen again...

There is a silly but working workaround - just open any menu that has a button with three dots [ . . . ] and close the pop-up by pressing Escape on keyboard. For example in the bottom bar of the chat edit area. It works for me, and I wonder in wild amazement when this problem finally goes away ;)
