Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

This X Quit option seemed to fix my arrow problem in Microsoft Teams first time so seems a really good solution. Thank you.

... 1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer? ...

It is 100% certain this is a software bug located in the Teams code. The key press event is caught and suppressed and then it is not correctly reverted in all events that would require the original behavior. The end users have a work around tricking the UI back into the correct state.

My question is: Did Microsoft ever consider the possibility that this was a software issue? Do they even accept it now? I think we can accept that there will not be a fix for it, and if it is ever fixed it will be snuck in an unrelated security update.

Does this bug illustrate any larger issue?

It is DEFINITELY a bug in the code, a software issue. It only happens in Teams. It only happens in the message box. AND the arrows still work if you use CTRL-RIGHT or CTRL-LEFT

I read up here that the option to fix it (and it worked for me) is press TAB, so you move to the toolbar under the message box. Then move with the arrows left and right (it works! confirming it is a bug). Then you can move back to the message box and the arrows will be working again.
