Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

Is anyone who is experiencing this issue seeing it wide spread within your organization or is it limited to just a few users or maybe even just you? Within our organization no one else in the dept (IT) is having this issue. I am on the most recent Win10 update and its not an old PC so I'm curious as to why no one else in my company seems to have this problem. It has me wondering if others of you are in this same situation, where its just you or a few others, then perhaps there is something else running on our systems not used y all users that is impacting/causing this.

Unique to me (from other co-workers) would be that I have a number of Development related apps like VS, SQL Server Mgt Studio, Crystal Reports Reporting. I also have Desktop PowerBI. Is there anything you have that others in your organization do not? Since MS seems to not be doing anything about this I figure we, the users, may have to figure it out for MS.

I think I'm also the only one. There's too much software to list, but from the most often running ones I have Office suite, Visual Studio code, SQL Server Studio, FreeCommander, IntelliJ, Notepad++.

I too am the only one that experiences (happens daily). I too am only one with Power BI (no other differences).
I too am on newer machine with Office 365 managing windows apps and updated windows 10.

I personally think due to myself being the worst typist in the office it may have to do with the spell checking or combination of keys occurring (something maybe with the instant format shortcuts or something like that). Some users prior in discussion imply guesses as to how they are triggering it and all are... sloppy typist. You>?

Notepad ++ here... but rarely running. so probably not it. Also I use Flamerobin (SQL tool) and ODBC excel... also not running enough to be related.

My guess is an app in your office 365 that is integrated versus a random app like Power BI... (which I have not used in months either). I think it is combinations of keys confusing the auto formatting. I think it is that simple. (or possibly registry/profile garbled issues on old windows profiles as lord know my windows profile has been through the ringer. (A/D, redirection, multiple machines over the years, etc.)

I use Windows 10 and Lenovo laptop - it seems to have a problem with Print Screen key, which is right near to right ALT key which I use for local special characters. Print screen key on this laptop often crashes IntelliJ IDEA and freezes Teams.

I have the same problem. It works for a while and then stops working. The left and right keys work well in all other applications (Office 365 and other non Microsoft) but Teams.

This issue was reported in May 2011 (it is now November). SergioA2020 provided some guidance, but this needs to be fixed at the core (clearing caches and restarting applications may have been acceptable in Windows 3.0, but not in Windows 10).

Does anyone know of a permanent fix?

    Thanks in advance!
