Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

I am plagued by this issue as well. Restarting the application is an unacceptable solution, just a clunky workaround.

Where has the Microsoft Team acknowledged the bug, and when can we expect a proper fix?

This is a known and well-documented issue now. It started cropping up for me last week and after restarting the app, it comes back every couple days. I've found dozens of sources identifying the same thing, so Microsoft must be aware of it by now. There is no long-term solution. You just have to quit the app and restart it until it happens again.

    JavierVasq,

Try closing Teams by right clicking on the bottom taskbar to close. I first closed Team by clicking the upper right of the window, but it didn't fit the problem. But then when I closed by right clicking the task bar to close it, it worked when I opened the Teams program again.

Microsoft...please fix this, it is very annoying!

    SergioA2020,

I'm having the exact same issue. I've tried everything on your list at one point or another. I use a Logitech external keyboard but the issue persists no matter the keyboard.

Hummelmose's work around seems to be the best, and least inconvenient, but I would still like a more permanent solution.

    Here are my pc specs/details:

    HP EliteBook 845 G7

    Build date 07/15/2021

    AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U

    16G of ram

    Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bit

For me I've noticed it happens after trying to type underscores next to characters (which I want) and having teams format the text between the underscores as italic and removing the underscores. When I frustratingly go back to highlight that text using CTRL+SHIFT and LEFT ARROW to jump back to and highlight those words I believe I must be hitting a certain combination of CTRL+SHIFT+ARROW to have teams go into some odd function where it doesn't allow left and right arrow in the chat window anymore. Hope MSFT is still reviewing this thread and this issue as I agree with the others, quite annoying to have to force close and restart Teams while working.
