Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop 

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external 

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

    I tried all work arounds mentioned, but sorry, for me only a reboot works - at least for some time. Quite annoying that such a lot of users seem to have this problem.

    OMG! This works! Slight mod. I didn't have to actually select reaction. For me this worked...

    • Hover over any previous message.
    • Click the 3 dots in the reaction menu.
    • When the dots menu appears, press Esc key.
    • Left right works again.

    Magic! Maybe with this help MS can find their bug! Thanks so much!!!

    I managed to fix this for myself by going to my colleague's message, hovering over as if i was going to react to it, reacting to it, going to the three dots on the react bar above their message and then pressing esc. Clicked back in the message box and suddenly my left-right functionality worked for me. I don't know if reacting to it is a necessary step in that but it worked first time for me so I didn't have a chance to test not reacting to my colleague's message. Hope this helps.
