Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

hmm.. didn't seem to work for me just with the three dots, i had to work my way to where it changed away from chat window, then escape .. i'll try again next time - all for shorter work-arounds

it woks by opening any of the three dot expansion menus... (been following since page 1). Simply open with mouse click escape button viola.

Mickey-Soft bugs. Excel still has conditional formatting bugged when using tables (since 2000! ... google it). They just give up instead of fixing things and hope no one notices. Its a thing.

Skipping to the end of these replies refers to the three dots work-around (stranger nearly than the issue).

I didn't read through all 216 replies, so may have missed the full description.

I had to play around a bit to find which three dots...

    • in the left hand menu panel (Activity, Chat,Teams etc) click the three dots ('more added apps')
    • click "More apps" at the bottom right of the pop-up
    • click "Chat" in the left hand panel again

Thats because its a bug. The bug doesn't go away with a workaround, its still there.

It just needs to be fixed by Microsoft, as its a problem created by their software.

I tried SergioA2020's suggestions. It worked as a workaround for a few hours. Then the issue returned as before.
