Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

I get the same issue. Yes hard restarting Teams fixes it.. but it comes back and is very annoying.

Laptop, desk station, external wired Keyboard.

cursors work in everything else they just get disabled in team chat box. It is a Teams bug or perhaps a hot key that disables them just for the teams chat box.. it is not a keyboard issue.

I am experiencing this issue as well. The work around to right click and quit the application and reopen does temporarily resolve the bug. Has this been reported by anyone as an actual bug in the Teams app?

Yes this works for me too.

Press Tab, then click on "..." (from the tools bar below the text input box), Press ESC, then shift tab

    This works! Thanks

This is a bug that MS needs to fix ASAP. Very annoying. The "kill process" and re-start teams worked to get the arrow key functionality back.

I just had it on Mac again. And the workaround works. But, not all menus with "..." work, e.g. the settings next to the avatar icon does not work. So for me, the following worked:

    • Click on "..." (Messaging extensions) below the text field
    • When the popup opens, press "ESC"

It's really bad that this doesn't get fixed, but at least something.
