Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop 

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external 

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

    Back in the 90's I let someone on IRC trick me into performing a "fork bomb" on my *nix box. "Never again", I said. I was 99% sure this ridiculous sequence was going to cause a BSoD. To my amazement, it worked. Now I have to rethink everything. Anyone know Therapist who is also a Computer Scientist? I've got a lot to unmarshall.

    This is happening to me. Arrow keys don't work and get stuck in insert mode. It ONLY happens in teams when typing a message. This is BUG! and happening 13 months after first being reported.

    This issue was created in may 2021. ITs more than a year ago. Why are we still struggeling with this? Why is it acceptable the so mouch time across the world is wasted while people are scratching their heads with this sort og problems. If software Companies took this serious this would be resolved. They are not liable. Its decades ago they had the interesrt of users on the top of their priorities.

    I could go on for a while on this but i don have the time. Got software stoff outside my area of expertise to solve, passwords to manage and reset, programs to update and so on. Thank good parashutes are not have this sort of operating system
