Microsoft Teams and Apple Airpod compatability

Hi - I use Microsoft Teams regularly (many times a day) to conduct business meetings.  I very recently bought a pair of Apple Airpods (Pro) as my old plug-in headphones stopped working after several years of service.  I run Teams on my Macbook Pro laptop.

Unfortunately, I can't get the Airpods working with Teams.  People in the meeting can hear me perfectly, but I can't hear them.  I'd appreciate it if somebody could offer some advice on how to get this configured.

Thanks.

Twice now using Microsoft Teams my Airpod Pro's kick out and actually removes my ability to even use Bluetooth.  It only happens with teams.  How can Microsoft not figure out how to use Airpods since soooo many people have them and use them.  I only use Teams because other use it i won't use it because of this issue.

If you are on a Mac then try combining Airpod's mic and headphone outputs into one as an Aggregate Device using the Audio MIDI Setup utility.

Here are the basic instructions: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202000

Then use the Aggregate device in the Teams app. The sound quality isn't quite as good though

It's crazy that we can't use our AirPods in Teams. Please inform us when you have corrected the issue.

    Dear Shawn,

It did not work for me in the beginning but it is working fine now.  I am using MS Teams on Microsoft Surface daily.

Under Device Settings, I always have to open Blue Tooth Devices and click "connect" for my Airpod Pro.  Once it shows "Connected. Music" (and not just "Connected" - it means Teams will pick it up.

Once that step is done, open Teams and under "Device Setting" in Teams, you should see it automatically changed to "Custom Setup" where speakers will be your Airpod and microphone will be your laptop.  Cannot have both from Airpod - that does not work somehow.

One other step I did which may be the reason why it now works for me when it did not in the beginning - DO NOT pair Airpod to iPhone.  I started out pairing to iPhone first and could not get it to work on MS Teams.  Once I unpaired with iPhone, I had no problems with connecting the Airpods to my Surface and it just works seamlessly on MS Teams.

    Hope the above helps!
