Microsoft Teams and Apple Airpod compatability

Hi - I use Microsoft Teams regularly (many times a day) to conduct business meetings.  I very recently bought a pair of Apple Airpods (Pro) as my old plug-in headphones stopped working after several years of service.  I run Teams on my Macbook Pro laptop.

Unfortunately, I can't get the Airpods working with Teams.  People in the meeting can hear me perfectly, but I can't hear them.  I'd appreciate it if somebody could offer some advice on how to get this configured.

    I have tried this solution a few times this morning but with no luck.  I made sure Teams was not running silently in thebackground via Task Manager but still no luck.  Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

    Did you pair your earbuds with the bluetooth on your PC/Laptop?  And have your earbuds out of the case?

    I tried to do it again today and had no luck.  However, I reboot my computer and walked through the steps and then there was no issue.  :) I hope this helps.

    I still cannot seem to connect

    in my sound control panel - I'm showing (2) devices

    Headset - Airpods pro Hands-Free

    Headphones - Airpods Pro Stereo

    on Teams - they're able to hear me speak, using hands free, but I cannot hear the Teams meetings.  The only way to hear the meeting - is to switch microphone to Computer

    Is my computer treating the airpods as (2) separate devices - a speaker and a headphone ?

    There seems to be two problems going on with the AirPods and MS Teams: first, the AirPods want to connect with other BT devices all the time (even opening the case will disconnect them), and second, as others have noted, MS Teams seems to confuse them as both Headphones and Headsets.

    I managed to get my AirPods Pro to work with MS Teams on a laptop PC by taking two steps:  1) disable all nearby BT devices (phone, watch, other PC's, etc.) and 2) disable the Headphones device under Manage Sound Devices settings when you are connected.

    And don't open the case or it will disconnect you!  Clearly this is less than ideal, but from this experience I think this is more of an Apple problem than a MS problem.

    they still don't want to connect both speakers and microphone.  In fact, the headphones (pro stereo) using the computer Microphone is the only setup that works with MS Teams.  

    I'll continue to work on a resolution - but i'm open to suggestions if others find a better approach.
