Microsoft Teams and Apple Airpod compatability

Hi - I use Microsoft Teams regularly (many times a day) to conduct business meetings.  I very recently bought a pair of Apple Airpods (Pro) as my old plug-in headphones stopped working after several years of service.  I run Teams on my Macbook Pro laptop.

Unfortunately, I can't get the Airpods working with Teams.  People in the meeting can hear me perfectly, but I can't hear them.  I'd appreciate it if somebody could offer some advice on how to get this configured.

Thanks.

Currently, Apple AirPods and AirPods Pro are not in the official supported USB audio and video devices list. They are not fully supported SFB and Teams. The cause for this incompatibility may come from the manufacture, we suggest you use devices in the list for fully support.

Yet Airpods work fine, better to try and provide support?

    I've got the same issue.

Airpods works perfectly on all devices (Apple and other) and also work on my laptop (both speakers and microphone).

When using MS Teams only the microphone works and not the speakers. The issues lies therefore within Teams itself

I've looked at the MS Teams settings which recognizes the Airpods.

There are many comments/questions on communities for a number of years stating exactly the same for both Skype and Teams but no solution  from Microsoft so far.

Please advise how to make my bluetooth earpods work.

    Hi Colin Armstrong,

For the current situation, Airpods/ Airpods Pro are not in the list of Teams fully supported devices: USB audio and video devices. I have noticed that a part of users submitted similar feedback on Skype for Business UserVoice and Teams UserVoice. Please help us vote for the existed idea to notice the related team to improve the compatibility performance between Teams and Airpods devices. Thanks for your engagement.

To provide you with the best experience, Office for Mac supports Apple’s three most recent versions of macOS, 10.15, 10.14, and 10.13. If you’re on an unsupported version of macOS, your Office apps will still work but you would no longer receive any updates including security updates. Best Regards,
