Teams not working on MacOS Big Sur

Hi all, 

I recently installer MacOS Big Sur in my Macbook Pro from scratch (not upgrading from previous installation). Once the system was working, I installed the Office 365 suite from App Store and MS Teams from microsoft.com (Teams does not exists in the App Store). All software is working properly EXCEPT Teams. After installation and launch, I keeps freezed in the "Loading Microsoft Teams" view.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the package several times, restarted the machine, etc, but it still does not work.

Are there any procedures or fixed I should perform? Does Teams actually works on Big Sur?

    Possible workaround: Use the Microsoft Teams web version. It works faster, more smoothly and isn't affected by MacOS Big Sur!

    Just to reiterate, the latest version of the Teams app works with Big Sur. I have installed on a number of Mac’s with no issues. 

    the web version is one answer but because of the feature gap between the web and desktop client, its worth perservering in my opinion.

    Hi all, 

    I was recently facing the same problem of Microsoft Teams not opening after I downloaded it onto my MacOS Big Sur, with the Apple M1 chip. I tried the suggestions above and for me they didn't work. However on the Microsoft Teams website there are 3 options to choose from when downloading the app; 'for home,' 'for education' and 'for work.' I tried the 'for home' and 'for education' version but they didn't open on my laptop. However the 'for work' option ended up working. 

    Hopefully this helps!

    Is there a way that you can link to the page with 3 download options? I have only found a page that has one download button, no choices of type.

    Not working for me on Big Sur either and I tried each suggestion in this thread. Can anyone help???
