Teams not working on MacOS Big Sur

Hi all,

I recently installer MacOS Big Sur in my Macbook Pro from scratch (not upgrading from previous installation). Once the system was working, I installed the Office 365 suite from App Store and MS Teams from microsoft.com (Teams does not exists in the App Store). All software is working properly EXCEPT Teams. After installation and launch, I keeps freezed in the "Loading Microsoft Teams" view.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the package several times, restarted the machine, etc, but it still does not work.

Are there any procedures or fixed I should perform? Does Teams actually works on Big Sur?

Thanks.

Thank you for this idea -- tried this, and per Graham, downloaded the latest upgrade for Teams (which allows me now to use a background -- one problem solved!), but I still can't share documents. I made a little progress because instead of a black strip where the screen share options should be, I'm getting the little circling arrow showing me it is looking for something. But it never finds it...

I've changed privacy settings in Accessibility and given access to EVERYTHING on my computer (not that happy with doing this, but thought it might be the ticket).

So annoying, because I'm an independent consultant and have to use THIS platform to deliver training to one of my clients.

Maybe they'll eventually find the bug that keeping it from work on Big Sur and on my (brand new) Macbook Pro.

    Ugh.

    But again, thanks.

I had the same issue and it solved the problem for me. Also check sharing settings within the System Settings and be sure that Teams is allowed.  Hope this helps!

Ah, something new to try. I'll do it -- maybe it will help me too, although I'm able to get into teams but I can't share documents. Perhaps they have also addressed this.

    Thanks!

I had the same issue on a new Macbook Pro 16" Big Sur 11.1 all of the various suggestions failed for me.

Just for clarity - the symptoms were - opening Teams showed the splash screen but would not get any further than this.

Having raised a support ticket with Microsoft, all of the ideas suggested did not work either, BUT I did notice that the previous download on the MS website was 93.1MB and the latest one is 97MB - obviously an update to the app.

Completely removed the old version (I used Clean My Mac as I use this anyway) and installed this latest file (97MB) and Teams loaded correctly without error.

It certainly feels as though MS has resolved the issue with the latest download.

I hope this helps point some of you to a resolution like me.

    Graham
