Hi all,
I recently installer MacOS Big Sur in my Macbook Pro from scratch (not upgrading from previous installation). Once the system was working, I installed the Office 365 suite from App Store and MS Teams from microsoft.com (Teams does not exists in the App Store). All software is working properly EXCEPT Teams. After installation and launch, I keeps freezed in the "Loading Microsoft Teams" view.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the package several times, restarted the machine, etc, but it still does not work.
Are there any procedures or fixed I should perform? Does Teams actually works on Big Sur?
Thanks.

THIS is what saved me. I tried literally everything else mentioned on this page to no avail; I kept getting an error message and couldn't even get to a login screen. René mentioned Rosetta and I found this:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252089840
At first it wasn't working after a fresh install, but a quick restart solved the problem! I didn't know about what Rosetta does, but it makes sense now (this link helps); it's essentially a bridge for developers still using Intel?

Anyways... hope this helps someone :)
got the same error last 30mins and tried every scenario listed here. Unfortunately it didn't work. So I uninstalled MS teams on my Mac (Big Sur 11.5.2) hoping to just use teams on the web. tried logging using firefox and then clicked the "meet now" button which took me to ms teams page and asking me either to open or download. so option using the web. so I clicked download and I noticed that the package file is different from the Microsoft site I previously used. and now it is working. I hope this can help others too.
I had the same issue on a 2020 Macbook Pro running the Intel processor. I had to roll back BigSur and run on Catalina.
That 'solved' the issue.
All of the other work arounds did not. This appears to be an interoperability issue with MS Teams and Mac Big Sur.
No issues with any other platforms (Zoom, WebEx, Slack) etc.
Hi all,
did you install and activate Rosetta for Microsoft Teams?
For a M1 processor I believe you have to activate Rosetta for Microsoft Teams (also for some of the Microsoft Office Applications)
In Terminal run:
softwareupdate --install-rosetta
Afterwards right click on the App->select "Get Info" and checkmark "Rosetta"
Bye
