Hi all,

I recently installer MacOS Big Sur in my Macbook Pro from scratch (not upgrading from previous installation). Once the system was working, I installed the Office 365 suite from App Store and MS Teams from microsoft.com (Teams does not exists in the App Store). All software is working properly EXCEPT Teams. After installation and launch, I keeps freezed in the "Loading Microsoft Teams" view.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the package several times, restarted the machine, etc, but it still does not work.

Are there any procedures or fixed I should perform? Does Teams actually works on Big Sur?

Thanks.

I just installed Teams on two computers running Big Sur, using essentially the same process. This is what worked for me, so I hope it helps others.

    1. Downloaded Teams to the two computers, but did not open the app.
    2. Created a Teams meeting from a system that had Teams running properly (ie: not in Big Sur).
    3. Emailed the invite to an address outside of the organization and then accessed the invite via webmail, not Outlook or any other mail program.
    4. Opened the invite, which launched the meeting.
    5. After launching the meeting, I clicked on the Teams app via the Teams icon and was able to open it and set up the actual Teams app with the applicable user names and passwords.

All has worked well since then.

This is the only thing that worked for me as well. You can delete the folders if there are there, but my Microsoft folder was not in the Application support folder at all. No Microsoft folders were. Make sure to fully quit teams first so there is no dot under the teams application, force quit if necessary.

Then I just went into my work/business Outlook calendar and clicked on a Microsoft teams meeting invite from earlier in the day, and then it launched the teams join a meeting window, and then I had to put my name in the teams join meeting window since it didn't know who I was, then I joined the meeting even though it was in the past. Then exited out of the active teams meeting window and then it prompted me to sign into Microsoft and then I just signed into my normal business Microsoft account and then everything just worked. No need for the personal sign in and then switch.

    Hope this helps.

The most important thing is to log in with an account. If you only have a business account, create a personal one and log in with that one.

Afterwards, when you see the dashboard you can try and log in with your desired account.

(deleting the /Teams folder from Application Support / Microsoft / Teams in-between tries is also a must)

It seems like the initial login process is blocked somehow when you try to do it with no account added or before the app dashboard is shown.

Pretty obvious bug if you are trying to use a business account (which most of us are...)

    Hi Mary,

I had a similar issue and was able to solve it in the System Preferences.

    • System Preferences>Security & Privacy
    • Click on the Privacy Tab
    • On the left scroll bar find and click on Accessibility
    • You will need to click on the padlock and enter your admin credentials
    • Make sure Microsoft Teams is there and checked

    I hope this helps you.

    Best of luck,

    Joe

I think I'd lose the will to live going through all that!
