Hi all,

I recently installer MacOS Big Sur in my Macbook Pro from scratch (not upgrading from previous installation). Once the system was working, I installed the Office 365 suite from App Store and MS Teams from microsoft.com (Teams does not exists in the App Store). All software is working properly EXCEPT Teams. After installation and launch, I keeps freezed in the "Loading Microsoft Teams" view.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the package several times, restarted the machine, etc, but it still does not work.

Are there any procedures or fixed I should perform? Does Teams actually works on Big Sur?

Thanks.

    Kim --

Thank you for this tip! After switching to Chrome, I was able to actually upload my slide deck using the web browser version. And it worked -- I could change the slides (even the animation worked) AND I could see the chat or participant list at the same time, all in one screen. What a deal -- compared to the work around I was using! I didn't try downloading the app (I already have it, but used the browser version). This is the first time I have been able to make this work on ANY of my Macs so I really appreciate your sharing your discovery.

I would rather use the app because I think it is the only way you can get the virtual backgrounds? I didn't see the option in the web browser version. But you can't have everything! Since I'm showing slides for the whole class session, they won't ever really see me in large view anyway.

Again, thanks. Maybe some day, Microsoft may learn to get along better with Apple/Safari. We can hope.

    Hi All,

I tried this fix (several times) when it was first suggested. Unfortunately, it does not work for me.  When I try to share, I just get a spinning arrow in the black band at the bottom of the video box. It never finds anything to share.

Could there be something else I have set differently????

Thanks to those who have been trying to help. I really appreciate it.

    Best,

    Mary

Thank you for this idea -- tried this, and per Graham, downloaded the latest upgrade for Teams (which allows me now to use a background -- one problem solved!), but I still can't share documents. I made a little progress because instead of a black strip where the screen share options should be, I'm getting the little circling arrow showing me it is looking for something. But it never finds it...

I've changed privacy settings in Accessibility and given access to EVERYTHING on my computer (not that happy with doing this, but thought it might be the ticket).

So annoying, because I'm an independent consultant and have to use THIS platform to deliver training to one of my clients.

Maybe they'll eventually find the bug that keeping it from work on Big Sur and on my (brand new) Macbook Pro.

    Ugh.

    But again, thanks.

I had the same issue and it solved the problem for me. Also check sharing settings within the System Settings and be sure that Teams is allowed.  Hope this helps!
