How to not pop out the meeting window as a separate window?

I'm not sureif it was an update or something. But all of a sudden everytime I join a meeting, it pops out to a separate window. I really hate this since I usually minimize the window within teams to do other tasks. How can I make sure that it doesn't get split into 2 windows? I really can't focus with this, how do I make it go back to normal?

My name is Veejay, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you and I'll be glad to help you.

If you don't want to pop out the meeting in a separate window, you should disable "Turn on new meeting experience"

To do that:

Click on your Profile Picture > Settings > Under General Tab, Go to Application Section > Uncheck/Disable "Turn on new meeting experience". > Close Window.

After that, Restart Teams by right clicking on the Teams icon at the task bar > Quit.

Then start Teams app again.

    Thank you soo much, it worked. I somehow couldn't find the settings. No clue how that turned itself on but it's fixed now.

    It's very annoying since I keep switching windows, thanks again for the help! :)

    I used your instructions to revert the settings back, but today I logged on and it "updated" back again.  Do I have to do this every week?

    My issue, is when conducting meetings and sharing screens, the webcam video of the speaker that we used to be able to minimize on the shared screen is "stuck" within the screen.  We can move it around, but we can't minimize it from the screen.  VERY annoying.

    I'd like to either switch it back permanently, or fix that floating speaker cam feature on the shared screen.

    This does not work anymore. Client updated last night and setting is missing in the below version:

    "You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.4167 (64-bit). It was last updated on 2/26/21."

    Very annoying.

    I agree that this is annoying and the setting to turn it off is now missing. Please put back the option to turn off the new meeting experience!!
