How to not pop out the meeting window as a separate window?

I'm not sureif it was an update or something. But all of a sudden everytime I join a meeting, it pops out to a separate window. I really hate this since I usually minimize the window within teams to do other tasks. How can I make sure that it doesn't get split into 2 windows? I really can't focus with this, how do I make it go back to normal?

My name is Veejay, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you and I'll be glad to help you.

If you don't want to pop out the meeting in a separate window, you should disable "Turn on new meeting experience"

To do that:

Click on your Profile Picture > Settings > Under General Tab, Go to Application Section > Uncheck/Disable "Turn on new meeting experience". > Close Window.

After that, Restart Teams by right clicking on the Teams icon at the task bar > Quit.

Then start Teams app again.

    You can't!

    Someone thought it would be a good idea to completely remove the option.

    You're now forced to have an independent, fixed size window right in the middle of your screen even if it's just a voice call. No matter where you try to put the new window to get it out of the way it will always popup back in the middle of the screen when recalled.

    In every other video application it opens in the application with the option to "pop out".
    So no idea where this annoying concept came from.

    Hi,

    Disabling the new meeting experience is no longer an option in settings. I'm using Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.4971.

    How do I disable the new meeting experience it's really annoying.

    I also agree, I feel there have been more than a few features with Teams that I find annoying but Microsoft either will not put in an option to disable them or as development goes forward they remove said options. It's hard to feel like they're listening to feedback when this happens.

    To do that:

    The fact that this option has been removed has made it clear to me that you guys do not pay any attention to these sorts of threads where removing a feature or a simple checkbox option has completely disrupted the workflow of so many users.

    You keep opting to make things more "simple", but it's obvious that your programmers just can't handle making a program with more than a small handful of changeable options. Either that or the product managers are absolutely dumb beyond words and only care about some stupid-**** buzzwords to make them look good to their bosses.

    If I was using my own business, I'd sure as hell avoid Teams like it was a petri dish full of COVID-19.
