Bluetooth device keeps getting disconnected during Teams meetings

Hi,

I use the wireless JBL Endurance Sprint Headphones to connect to meetings on my Teams app on my work laptop.

This was working fine until a few days ago. But, from the past few days my headphones gets disconnected every few seconds.

This is terribly agonizing - I can't hear the audio and get tuned out from  the conversation. I need to turn on my headphones again every time it gets disconnected. I end up losing parts of the conversation and it gets extremely awkward frequently requesting the other person to repeat what they said.

I initially thought it might be my headphones, but it works really well with the same laptop on other applications. Works fine on other devices too.

I tried updating driver software for my Bluetooth device. Looks like it's up-to-date.

I have no idea how to fix this.

Similar questions had answers to uncheck the "Disable bluetooth device for power savings" under Power Management Tab ( Device Manager -> Bluetooth-> Adapter-> Properties). I don't see this tab anymore

Please help fix this ASAP.

Today I installed the driver on my work pc. BT headphones disconnected after 15 minutes on Teams...... frustrating. Oddly enough, it worked fine on my own Pc with Zoom, which also caused problems before (I haven’t tested Teams on my own pc yet)

I updated my Intel Wireless Bluetooth driver via Intel Driver Support Assistant to 22.30.0.4 (22.01.2021)

It seems that Microsoft Windows Update Service was unable to find the current version of the driver and left me with a completely outdated version from 2020 (!). Good job, Microsoft.

The release notes of Intel Wireless Bluetooth driver 22.30.0.4 (22.01.2021) look very promising. It seems Intel addressed the Microsoft Teams issue and released a fix: Discontinuity of audio during a Teams call can occur on some devices.

See https://downloadmirror.intel.com/30251/eng/ReleaseNotes_BT_22.30.0.pdf and https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30251/Intel-Wireless-Bluetooth-for-Windows-10 for details.

This did not help me. I downloaded version 22.30.0.4 and installed. My headphones still disconnect after 15-ish minutes in a Teams call.

    I updated the driver

    Disconnected/unpaired my headphones

    Restarted my PC

    Re-paired my headphones

Maybe this could work for you.

It did not help. Tried rolling back the driver version to 21.X.X.X, restarting the computer, installing driver version 22.30.0.4 again, uncoupled my headphones, restarted the computer, paired the headphones again, but they are still disconnecting.

Funny enough, Google Meets works fine, Spotify works fine, Zoom works fine, but Teams is not working.

There are close to a 1000 + such queries I have browsed through the internet on this topic in the hope that I get a resolution. But no, not one proper resolution. This is a very long and on-going issue and I would have hoped that Microsoft would have already fixed it. It is very surprising that MS support is mute on this issue.

@Microsoft Teams Support : Are you guys even considering a fix or do you want all users to move to a MS certified Headset. It is not possible for everyone to buy a new much more expensive headset when their company is not providing one.

    Hi all,

I have the issue of my Microsoft BT Keyboard and Mouse disconnecting intermittently when using Teams.

The only solution is rebooting my laptop.

Since the BT mouse stops working too, I used a wired mouse to reboot.

    This is very annoying !

Waiting for a fix or will have to ditch the Microsoft BT keyboard and mouse for wired

    Thanks

    Shalin

This has been an outstanding issue since last year, and as yet MicroSoft does not appear to have solved the issue!.

Like you my issue is not with the audio, but Microsoft's very own BT Keyboard and Mouse disconnecting when using Teams.  I am now using a BT Logitech keyboard which stays connected, and a Microsoft USB BT dongle mouse (an old model I had in the draw).

The IT Team uninstalled and reinstalled BT three times to no avail, but it seems when two or more devices are connected via BT, working with Teams, the devices disconnect.  I recently connected Apple AirPods and the Mouse was intermittantly connecting.
