Keynote presentation in Teams

Hi

When presenting a keynote through sharing the screen in a meeting, the participants do not see the full window when pressing "Start presentation". I have done this many times before, recently a couple of weeks ago. Presenting a full screen view for the other in the meeting. Now they see just a "freezed" image of the cursor in a desktop mode of the presentation.

Have there been a update so keynote and team are not communicating - or maybe a overload of users in the last weeks?

Would really like to get help to solving this issue!

    I tried MS Teams on Chrome browser and App with Keynote with Keynote on fullscreen play and in "play in window". The only thing that works is full screen on Chrome but I cannot see the other attendees. In any other mode the screen freezes. I had no issues with Google Meet or Zoom so it is specifically a MS-Teams issue.

    I can't believe that this discussion has been around since Jan 2020 and MS has not addressed it yet.

    Very sad that MS can't fix this issue even though they have huge resources. Last time I reported a Teams bug it took them 18+ months to fix it (seriously are their devs busy playing Xbox on company time or something?). I have a big presentation coming up, and converting the existing keynote slides to pptx doesn't work well, especially with the animations.

    Regardless, here are two possible workarounds for those who don't want to go through the pain of manual conversion:

    1. Export the keynote presentation to pdf and check the "Print each stage of build" option. This will generate one pdf page per animation. The animation effect won't work but you will be able to see the resulting slide.
    2. Open Teams in Edge and share presentation via "Play Slideshow in Window" option (when in meeting, click on share, and then Window/Application (at first keynote wasn't detected because it was full screen, so I exited it out of full screen, and was able to then view the keynote window in the share.) Playing the presentation in full screen via the (Play button) didn't work, but playing via the Slideshow in window option in a full screen/non full screen window worked.

    This worked in Edge Version 89.0.774.63 (Official build) (64-bit) on a M1 Mac. Maybe they will break it in the next version.

    As for an expedited solution, I recommend reaching out to your IT department and making them aware of this issue repeatedly, especially if they supply you with Macs as official machines. They likely have a contact at MS who can accelerate the issue in terms of priority better than this forum or the voting website.

    I had the same issue, and what worked for me was to "share Desktop", wich shares your whole screen and not "share Window". Just remember to turn off notifications😉
