External Presenters in Teams Live Events

Can external presenters be tied to a Gmail account and present?  Are there limitations because we tested with two external presenters after adding them into the Tenant as guests and they couldn't join and if they did join they couldn't present.

Where is a list of steps for setting up an external presenter?  Are their videos to show a presenter how to share their screen?  Why is it that you can only queue up the first item and presenter and send live and you can't queue up the next...there is no point to the queue if it can't be used to get stuff ready to show.

Why can't we include audio in a presenters' material?

Did you first add the (never used Teams before) email of the EXTERNAL to any Teams you have created ? We created a Teams called "External Presenters" just to keep track within our group that deals with EXTERNALS.

Even after doing  this required step, we still see sporadic success.

I've got a theory, one I hope someone from Microsoft can confirm or deny:

The external presenters we brought into Teams Live Events both not only had the Teams app, but used Teams regularly in their organizations. I tried to set up a test event yesterday with someone who downloaded the app, but was outside our organization, and they were unable to get in. They got "You need permission to join this live event. Please contact the organizer."

So my theory is that an external presenter (or producer, which I have tried to do, too) not only has to have the Teams app, but has to be covered under someone's license and can't just be a random person who happens to download Teams outside of the Microsoft 365 platform. (My organization has everybody on 365 and makes Teams available that way, easy peasy, but people outside whose organizations don't

    • or who don't have an organization - might be precluded.)

Hopefully someone can Microsoft can confirm or clarify and maybe suggest a solution?

Yeah we have no problems as well. As long as both organizations have Teams then it works without issue.  I think the issue here is if you try to have an external presenter without Teams join in, they cannot, they get kicked over to attendee.  We had to have the presenter dial in via the dial in number for presenters.  Not ideal but that's the work around.

I've twice requested Teams Live assistance and...crickets.

That's very strange. We had no problems at all with external presenters, though, as mentioned above, both had the actual Teams app and use Teams in their organizations.
