hi all, you have to go deep into preferences and allow the app to access your computer. I know this isn't the best explanation, but I got it to work on my bosses computer.
This may be it:
- Click the Apple menu.
- Then, go to System Preferences > Click Security & Privacy > Privacy tab.
- Click Screen Recording.
- Click the lock icon to make changes.
- If required, enter your admin password.
- Finally, click the checkbox next to Microsoft Teams.
- A notification window will ask you to restart it. Agree.
- Then, try again and see if the issue persists.
If not this, something very similar.
You are close to that you have to do, problem is for many that the 'approval' is there but doesn't seem to have any effect. It is as if the program is not paying attention to the approvals.
The MS Teams Desktop app share screen is not working for me on macOS 10.15.7. The Microsoft Teams Desktop App does not show up under Screen Recording and there is no way to add it to Screen Recording. The +- signs are not there. I deleted and re-installed
the Teams Desktop app, no change. I opened MS Edge and opened the Teams App on the Browser, the Systems Preferences Security & Privacy under Screen Sharing now shows MS Edge and I selected it and saved. MS Edge Microsoft Teams works fine for screen sharing.
I believe the problem is the Teams Desktop app call to macOS 10.15.7 must have a bug since the Systems Preference - Screen Recording is not recognizing it and letting you add it to screen recording. The Teams Desktop app shows up in multiple other places in
Systems Preferences and works normally. I am also the Global Administrator for our very small organization I cannot find any policy that would correct this problem. Everyone else on Windows has no problem with Screen Recording, only the Mac users.
