Screen-sharing in Teams Mac, no ‘Windows’ or ‘Desktop’

Since yesterday, I am unable to share anything but PPTs in Team meetings with colleagues.

MS Teams 1.2.00.28258 on Mac 10.15 – since yesterday, I cannot share anything but PowerPoint files. The option to share ‘Desktop’ and ‘Windows’ have disappeared. I have checked the boxes in System Preferences > Security > Screen Recording.

hi all, you have to go deep into preferences and allow the app to access your computer. I know this isn't the best explanation, but I got it to work on my bosses computer.

This may be it:

Click the Apple menu.

Then, go to System Preferences > Click Security & Privacy > Privacy tab.

Click Screen Recording.

Click the lock icon to make changes.

If required, enter your admin password.

Finally, click the checkbox next to Microsoft Teams.

A notification window will ask you to restart it. Agree.

Then, try again and see if the issue persists.

If not this, something very similar.

You are close to that you have to do, problem is for many that the 'approval' is there but doesn't seem to have any effect. It is as if the program is not paying attention to the approvals.

Experienced, same issue with a colleague of mine. Seems like there was a pending update which must have ignored the ticks been placed on permissions. After reboot, screen sharing worked as expected.

Thanks a lot, this was helpful.

I also found out a solution to my MacBook - I downloaded Microsoft Teams application in the computer, instead of using Microsoft Teams online. The issue was that I was using Microsoft 365 version, which does not read the computer settings. Thanks anyway!

Re: MacOS unable to share screen, Teams not listed under Screen Recording in settings. ... My solution: Under Teams > Settings > uncheck new meeting experience > restart Teams. Start new meeting and try to share. privacy settings prompt comes up and NOW Teams is available under Screen Recording, select Teams to allow.

Hi, I followed the steps above on my Macbook, enabled Microsoft Teams to screen recording option. Saved settings, restarted. But when I try to share my desktop or any document using Teams, it does not allow to, an error message on Teams still says I need to change the security settings to allow screen sharing. Can you assist where else in Microsoft Teams need to be changed in the security settings to allow me to share documents or my screen using a Macbook computer?
