You are absolutely right, considering the norms during this pandemic situation people tend to use MS Teams more frequently. But, something you have to note is that Microsoft doesn't include Teams in the Office 365 bundle. Part of the reason is that Microsoft treats macOS as an inferior to Windows as they have to promote their own software. Moreover when Apple announced the Apple Silicon transition in the first place, developers were one of the first to receive the transition kit. Companies like Adobe and Blackmagic promised that they will be supporting and developing for the platform, so if I am not wrong Microsoft was in a way obliged to do the same and they announced their support for apple silicon. They included some apps in the office 365 bundle so as to satisfy Apple and us for the time, until the heat builds up and they really feel the need to actually develop a properly optimized MS Teams. No matter how much we crave for an optimized Teams that makes proper use of the M1 and it's capabilities, I believe we have no option but to wait until Microsoft takes their time, let's at least hope that the version they release then would be stable enough and show why they took so long.
Cheers...
