Installing Teams on a MAC 10.10.5

I am using Office 365 remotely for work (I am a teacher) and I am trying to use Teams, but I can't seem to get the online version to load.  One of my collegeages said to download it.  I was able to download the suite, but Teams was not there.  When I go to the App store, I also could not find Teams.  Is it possible to download Teams onto a Mac?

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for posting back.

According to the reference: Hardware requirements for Teams on a Mac, the Operating system is required Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan or later one of the three most recent versions of macOS (you'd better view the reference to get the latest information). Please update your system, OR you could use Teams for Web to instead. Sorry for the inconvenience happens to you.

    Hi George! Thanks for your reply (see below). I can't find it on the board when I hit the reply button on the email.

    I am running 10.10.5 Yosemite which means I would have to upgarde to Catalina right? I'm just terrified that upgrading will mean I won't be able to use my older apps and I might lose data.

    Since the three most recent version of macOS is Big Sur, Catalina and Mojave, if you want to use the Teams application on Mac, I would like to suggest you upgrade to Big Sur. Note: If you’re running any release from macOS 10.13 to 10.9, you can upgrade to macOS Big Sur from the App Store. If you’re running Mountain Lion 10.8, you will need to upgrade to El Capitan 10.11 first.

    Also, if you have more concerns about upgrading macOS, I would like to suggest post a thread in Apple Support Community.

    George please guide on how to upgrade from 10.5.5 to the next version (El Capitan).

    I have not upgraded because I am worried a) about losing data and b) not being able to use existing applications.

    Where is the best place that can I go to get El Capitan?
