MS Teams and network drops

So I keep having an issue where people are losing network connection while on teams meeting while using a dock. We have Lenovo USB-C docks, but when you are connected to a teams meeting with a network cable plugged into the dock. It drops the meeting, it could be 5 mins into the meeting, 20 mins into the meeting. I cannot find a connection to the length of time it gives you online before you drop.

It only happens to you if you have a USB-C Lenovo Dock, plugged into a Lenovo laptop, with a network cable plugged into it. If you pulled the cable and work off wifi it NEVER has a problem.

I have done dock driver updates, dock firmware update.

Any ideas? has anyone else had this problem?

4 users with the same issue in our organization and at least a dozen of our managed services clients continuously having issues. Mainly seems to be during Teams calls and it happens like clockwork at around 20 minutes in.

I have found, that not having Video enabled does seem to stop the issue from happening. I.e. ethernet plugged into my USB-C dock, with screens etc. and it does not freeze. I had a 45 minute teams call with two other parties yesterday with my video off and it was absoloutley fine. Im yet to do further testing before I can say its concrete though

    Same issue with compatible hardware.

    No issue on wifi.

All laptop drivers and dock firmware are up to date.

Found out I could download more updates trough the Lenovo website in comparision with the Lenovo System Update but still no improvement.

The issue is on multiple laptops in our organization.

It looks like Lenovo and Realtek are dealing with this.

A guy on a Spiceworks forum quotes the following transcript after Lenovo left him a Voicemail regarding the issue:

    "

I'm calling from Lenovo Support in reference to a ticket regarding a P53s having issues connecting to a dock with Teams.  Just wanted to basically give you an update on this that Lenovo Engineering is working currently on a fix for this with Realtek.  Apparently it's an industry-wide issue regarding the Ethernet controllers in docks, and we definitely are looking into it with Realtek to get a fix on this.  We will, once there is a fix available, we will reach back out to you and let you know.

It's about time! If I had known that lenovo's docking stations weren't that compatible with their own laptops I would have held off from purchasing 200 LOL.

We've been using a aftermarket usb-c docking station which has helped us cope with this issue.

We have a newly introduced webcam freezing issue now.

I will contact Lenovo and submit a support request with the five docking stations and p53s/t590s that we have exhibiting this exact problem.

Thank you very much for sharing this!
