MS Teams and network drops

So I keep having an issue where people are losing network connection while on teams meeting while using a dock. We have Lenovo USB-C docks, but when you are connected to a teams meeting with a network cable plugged into the dock. It drops the meeting, it could be 5 mins into the meeting, 20 mins into the meeting. I cannot find a connection to the length of time it gives you online before you drop.

It only happens to you if you have a USB-C Lenovo Dock, plugged into a Lenovo laptop, with a network cable plugged into it. If you pulled the cable and work off wifi it NEVER has a problem.

I have done dock driver updates, dock firmware update.

Any ideas? has anyone else had this problem?

    Hi Crystal Young (clyoung),

    Welcome posting in the forum.

I noticed you mentioned “If you pulled the cable and work off wifi it NEVER has a problem.”, to exclude the dock problem, if possible, you may change another dock to see if there are any differences. Besides, always make sure you are using the latest version of Teams, go to your profile picture in the upper-right of the Teams app and select Check for updates. Updates typically install in the background if they're available.

Also, if you have this issue on Teams desktop app, you may try to sign in Teams web app to see if this issue still happens, vice versa.

Moreover, try to make a test call to verify if your internet configured correctly. For how to make a test call please see Make a test call

    Regards

    Grace

We have exactly the same problem with all our dockingstations over usb-c

It happens on Acer, Lenovo laptops and Surface Tablets...

I tested around 8 different usb-c docks, but after a while the usb-c (mostly some kind of realtek network card) lan disconnect.

According to the win 10 systemreport ms teams (nothing else was in use) try to set a new/different DNS and then failed and disabled the card... Sometimes it helps to disconnect the dock, sometimes we need to restart.

This is a realy big problem and it is more than frustrating... :/

Plz microsoft fix teams... The program is so often more than buggy... Usb-c prob, login probs, not remembering loginnames etc.

We have exactky the same issues, all Lenovo Docks are up to date with the latest firmwares and all devices (laptops) have the latest firmwares and updates as well.

it seems to be Ethernet over USB-C and Teams that causes the issues

I have done this and we have the same problem. I am not sure how to fix it, the only way to "fix" it is to use wifi during teams calls.
