MS Teams for mac unable to share desktop or other screens - app and online versions

In MS Teams , I cannot share my Desktop / Application Windows. Teams alerts me that it needs Screen Recording permissions, although I have actually granted these before, and the regarding boxes in System Preferences are already ticked.

I have the newest version of Catalina and Teams. Nevertheless I don´t know exactly which applications are blocking the Teams screen sharing and why., I have followed all suggestions such as using the online version, same issue occurs, removing VPNs and rebooting and updating apps and the mac itself......I use Teams constantly for work and this is causing me a major hassle!

Thanks

Have you tried starting sharing in Full Screen mode? This worked for me.

It seems the pop-up window that the Mac OS tries to show you for opening the Screen Recording settings gets hidden unless you're in Teams full screen when you try to share screen.

This actually worked for me, thank you!

If it appears in Full Screen mode, then you just check the box and you're done. You only need to do this once.

NOTE: It seems there are TWO different problems here:

    1. Teams does NOT show up in Screen Recording Preferences, so you can't tick its box, and
    2. Teams DOES show up, but when you tick its box Team STILL refuses to share the screen

I have #2, and found a workaround: LEAVE THE PREFERENCES PANE OPEN while trying to share your screen in Teams. This works like a charm for me.

I have the same problem and I have noticed that my students working on Macs with High Sierra don't have that problem, they can share everything. I use Catalina and have no chance of sharing my screen ....
