MS Teams for mac unable to share desktop or other screens - app and online versions

In MS Teams , I cannot share my Desktop / Application Windows. Teams alerts me that it needs Screen Recording permissions, although I have actually granted these before, and the regarding boxes in System Preferences are already ticked.

I have the newest version of Catalina and Teams. Nevertheless I don´t know exactly which applications are blocking the Teams screen sharing and why., I have followed all suggestions such as using the online version, same issue occurs, removing VPNs and rebooting and updating apps and the mac itself......I use Teams constantly for work and this is causing me a major hassle!

Thanks

    Hi, this has been a massive ingoing issue in Teams for Mac for an eternity.....i started this thread months ago because of the exact same issue and all i get in response from MS is to be patient and they are working on a fix.....put simply, Teams wont share screens for things like excel but only some powerpoint, which is really annoying....something happened when we all upgraded macOS.

    the only workaround i have found to date is to only choose ‘desktop’ as your shared screen and open the file you want to share on your desktop whilst closing all others.....quite annoying, even worse if you have automatic alerts on some programs installed as when you share your document, others can see your alerts coming in!.....good luck... but in short, until MS fix this, thats the omly solution!

    Hi Chris,

    Thanks for the update. You may try to check this issue via creating a new Mac user account and performing a clean install the latest version of Teams application program to see whether the problem still occurs.

    Moreover, we will keep doing some research/monitoring on this issue and update you when more information is known, including a fix or official workaround.

    Regarding this point, we would truly appreciate your kind understanding.

    Best regards,

    Shyamal

    Thanks for the suggestion;

    I tried creating a new Mac user account and performing a clean install and the latest version of Teams but it did not make any difference....this is sooooo frustrating, how many people must be using Teams on MAC with this issue???!

    We were noticing a similar issue but found that it works fine as long as Teams AND the app you want to share are not in full screen. If Excel, the browser, or any other app that we wanted to share on the Mac was in full screen, it wouldn't appear in the list of windows to be shared. We've actually noticed weird behavior from a number of apps on Mac if they are in full screen.

    when you say the team are working on this and will have it fixed ASAP, could you at least hazard a guess on timescales as we pay for your product to not be able to use it is bad enough but we chose it so we can collaborate.....and we can't which is much more costly than the price we pay for the licences!

    You email seems to be nothing more than a placeholder and offers no further insight into how MS are going to fix their flaghsip product working with the entire MAC business community....
