MS Teams for mac unable to share desktop or other screens - app and online versions

In MS Teams , I cannot share my Desktop / Application Windows. Teams alerts me that it needs Screen Recording permissions, although I have actually granted these before, and the regarding boxes in System Preferences are already ticked.

I have the newest version of Catalina and Teams. Nevertheless I don´t know exactly which applications are blocking the Teams screen sharing and why., I have followed all suggestions such as using the online version, same issue occurs, removing VPNs and rebooting and updating apps and the mac itself......I use Teams constantly for work and this is causing me a major hassle!

Thanks

Fantastic - that worked, although the Screen Recording step had to be done a little differently on my machine.  The only way to add Microsoft Teams to the list of apps in the Screen Recording window was to first open up Microsoft Teams, at which point it prompted me to take action regarding granting Screen Recording permission for Microsoft Teams.

Thanks ever so much for this solution, GR20136!

    Hi folks,

I had the same issue as many on the thread.  I was unable to share my screen on a MacBook Pro, even though I had enabled the screen recording and File access.

Here's what I tried and it worked.

    • Make sure Teams is closed / not running
    • Go to System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Full Disk Access
    • Unlock (in the lower left)
    • Grant full disk access to Teams

Next, open Terminal and run this code:

    tccutil reset ScreenCapture com.microsoft.teams

    • Go back to System Preferences
    • Select to System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Screen Recording
    • Make sure to Unlock (in lower left)
    • Enable screen recording for MS Teams
    • Click the lock

    Then

    - Open Teams

    - Cross your fingers

    - Try to share your screen

    Should work :-)

Please note: on a Mac you can only share Windows that reside on the same 'Space'. This means if you use multiple spaces (or multiple desktops as some people would call it) and use mission control to switch between them, you need to relocate the window you want to share to be on the same space as where Teams is.

Only then will Teams show that window in its list of windows to share.

exactly...this is the real answer and, at the same time, this is the real the gap with the Windows OS Version!!!!
