MS Teams for mac unable to share desktop or other screens - app and online versions

In MS Teams , I cannot share my Desktop / Application Windows. Teams alerts me that it needs Screen Recording permissions, although I have actually granted these before, and the regarding boxes in System Preferences are already ticked.

I have the newest version of Catalina and Teams. Nevertheless I don´t know exactly which applications are blocking the Teams screen sharing and why., I have followed all suggestions such as using the online version, same issue occurs, removing VPNs and rebooting and updating apps and the mac itself......I use Teams constantly for work and this is causing me a major hassle!

Thanks

Same story here. I have tried all of the suggestions in this thread with no luck.

I have also noticed that the thread addresses several RELATED, but not identical problems:

    1. Teams is not visible in the screen sharing menu at all (my problem)
    2. Enabling screen sharing for Teams does not work
    3. Enabling partly works and resets every time Teams is restarted
4. Sharing options are only available / selectable when Teams is in full screen mode

Some of the workarounds seem to work on some of the problems, but the underlaying problem appears to be persistent regardless of workaround procedure.

Thanks to all the people who have suggested various workarounds! However, MS is the only party able to resolve the problem and MUST prioritize finding a fix for this critical function to work reliably.

We are having the same issue with teachers and students- Microsoft needs to fix this MAC issue ASAP!!  This is unacceptable to launch a program that is not compatible with MAC's regardless of being competitors!  Google, doesn't do this? Google docs, google drive, zoom- all work seamlessly on any platform- Microsoft and Apple need to bury the hatchet and provide universal access to MACs/iOS and Windows- and vise versa.

I had the same problem as you all, but I managed to solve it in a rather simply way.

If I go to System Preferences and keep it open, I can share my screen. Once I close it, the screen sharing stops working :S

Weird, but I hope it helps anyone.

    Thank you

in this way you can share also an application window (e.g. excel file or word file)?

This workaround definitely works so thank you. Too late for my wife’s presentation in which she couldnt share ber screen. Microsoft this isnt good enough. This is ongoing since at least February and users are having ronfind their own solutions. Sort it please.

    exactly

    this is a good workaround

I found this solution too, though uncomfortable enough.

we hope for a new release that will fix this annoying problem.

Same issue. A client who wants to share her screen on a Mac only gets a black box with no options when clicking the share tray button.

    Unhelpful at best.
