MS Teams for mac unable to share desktop or other screens - app and online versions

In MS Teams , I cannot share my Desktop / Application Windows. Teams alerts me that it needs Screen Recording permissions, although I have actually granted these before, and the regarding boxes in System Preferences are already ticked.

I have the newest version of Catalina and Teams. Nevertheless I don´t know exactly which applications are blocking the Teams screen sharing and why., I have followed all suggestions such as using the online version, same issue occurs, removing VPNs and rebooting and updating apps and the mac itself......I use Teams constantly for work and this is causing me a major hassle!

Thanks

    The same story here...

    1. I tried whatewer and was not succesful to force MS Teams to appear in the "share screen" list (fullscreen, share screen menu unlocked and opened while starting the teams, ...)
    2. I uninstalled MS Teams entirely + rebooted the macbook pro
    3. downloaded "new" MS office package from Office365 profile and reinstalled them
    4. started Teams while share screen menu unlocked and opened
    5. tried to share again - no success (just the line in upper part of Teams saying to go to settings and share screen menu... but Teams were not present there
    6. just switched the teams to full screen and tried to share again and... voila... the pop up window asking to enable teams to share screen appeared... and in the list of share screen apps were Teams present. After checking the box, Teams just prompted restart and I have the possibility to share screens/apps/...

What i Feel as the root of my troubles is when I had to install Skype for business due to some meeting which I was not able to connect to from Teams. In past I have uninstalled Skype because it interfered with Teams in some other way - I think it blocked either cam or speakers...

Hi Chris and others on this thread

We are also experiencing this difficulty, being unable to share content, with Teams installed on Mac OS X machines.  Our experience includes that local authorities and colleges that we are working with are insisting the use of MS Teams.  It means that we are unable to fulfill our remit to deliver education and learning to our community of disabled learners and musicians.  It is very frustrating.

We have users on various OS X from 10.13.x through 10.14.x to the latest Catalina OS X.

We note and thank previous thread contributions on suggestions of: not using full screen display of any programmes to potentially to be shared.

Selecting  System Preferences and enabling, in the privacy tab Recording option for Teams. (not been an option that I have actually seen as a preference), but have tried 'full disk access'.

We are investigating the potential use of MS Teams in conjunction with other software to try and provide/improvise a solution employing the use of third party apps, such as OBS and Black Hole.  If any others have contributions to this/these set of issues, we would love to hear from you.

Finally Microsoft and Apple, we have been loyal subscribers and purchasers of both your kit and software titles for many, many years.  In this day and age when many expound the virtues of the technology advancements, and as circumstances and pandemic have changed the world's culture and modes of working and learning, you are both contributing to parts of the population being unable to access the processes vital for the progress.  Please make access to your sharing services available and working sooner than later.

Not sure this is helpful but I had trouble sharing my Remote Desktop app screen on Teams. I figured out my problem..... Teams wouldn’t reference other desktops on my Mac. I learned the solution was that I had to move my Remote Desktop app window to the same Desktop that Teams app was open on. Basically the 2 apps had to be on the same desktop on my Mac to be able to share my screen. It does not appear the app can be expanded where they take up a whole Desktop either. Good luck!

This issue is really frustrating. I use ZOOM most of the time just because of this!
