MS Teams for mac unable to share desktop or other screens - app and online versions

In MS Teams , I cannot share my Desktop / Application Windows. Teams alerts me that it needs Screen Recording permissions, although I have actually granted these before, and the regarding boxes in System Preferences are already ticked.

I have the newest version of Catalina and Teams. Nevertheless I don´t know exactly which applications are blocking the Teams screen sharing and why., I have followed all suggestions such as using the online version, same issue occurs, removing VPNs and rebooting and updating apps and the mac itself......I use Teams constantly for work and this is causing me a major hassle!

Thanks

Thanks this was helpful but took my sometime to figure it out. Below is the step by step to solve this issue.

    1. go to "System Preferences" in MAC OS
    2. go to "Security & Privacy"
    3. go to "Privacy" -> "Screen Recording"
    4. Allow MS teams

    This does not work.

can you tell us step by step of this workaround please?

    Hello

Arthur's working around, have helped me too. Thanks for sharing.

    Here are the steps:

    • If you try to share the screen on your Mac, you would see this message

Then click on the "Security & Privacy settings and go to screen recording:

If you have already selected the Microsoft teams, deselect it, select it again and leave this settings window open.

@"Microsoft Teams" Team: Shame on you for leaving your customers hanging around with this problem for more than 8 months.

when you say the team are working on this and will have it fixed ASAP, could you at least hazard a guess on timescales as we pay for your product to not be able to use it is bad enough but we chose it so we can collaborate.....and we can't which is much more costly than the price we pay for the licences!

You email seems to be nothing more than a placeholder and offers no further insight into how MS are going to fix their flaghsip product working with the entire MAC business community....

I was able to go into System Preferences, then SECURITY AND PRIVACY, Then SCREEN RECORDING.  I had to click on the lock on the bottom to be able to make changes, but after clicking beside MS Teams, I closed out  the System Preferences... then closed out MS Teams (had to make sure to "quit" TEAMS and restart it.  After doing all of this I was able to share my screen.

    I hope this helps.

i don't want share my screen....i want share only an application window (e.g. share the excel window or word window and not the entire desktop)

    have you solve this issue???

Sharing an application window is sharing part of your screen.

So you still need to enable screen recording or it won't work.

I had the same problem as you all, but I managed to solve it in a rather simply way.

If I go to System Preferences and keep it open, I can share my screen. Once I close it, the screen sharing stops working :S

Weird, but I hope it helps anyone.

    Thank you
