MS Teams for mac unable to share desktop or other screens - app and online versions

In MS Teams , I cannot share my Desktop / Application Windows. Teams alerts me that it needs Screen Recording permissions, although I have actually granted these before, and the regarding boxes in System Preferences are already ticked.

I have the newest version of Catalina and Teams. Nevertheless I don´t know exactly which applications are blocking the Teams screen sharing and why., I have followed all suggestions such as using the online version, same issue occurs, removing VPNs and rebooting and updating apps and the mac itself......I use Teams constantly for work and this is causing me a major hassle!

Thanks

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for the update. You may try to check this issue via creating a new Mac user account and performing a clean install the latest version of Teams application program to see whether the problem still occurs.

Moreover, we will keep doing some research/monitoring on this issue and update you when more information is known, including a fix or official workaround.

Regarding this point, we would truly appreciate your kind understanding.

    Best regards,

    Thanks for the suggestion;

I tried creating a new Mac user account and performing a clean install and the latest version of Teams but it did not make any difference....this is sooooo frustrating, how many people must be using Teams on MAC with this issue???!

    Hi Chris,

We have received several reports on the similar issue. Here are some workaround working for most of the users you may try them to check this issue.

    1. Screen sharing seems to work, if you do not run Teams in Fullscreen mode.
    2. Disable firewall/proxy setting (if you have set up an any)

    3.Quit Teams

Uncheck 'Screen Recording' for Microsoft Teams in 'Settings> Security & Privacy'

Restart Mac and wait for some times to re-enable/Check 'Screen Recording' for Microsoft Teams in 'Settings >Security & Privacy'

    Open Teams

Start a Meeting to see whether the Screen Sharing available.

    Your understanding is highly appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Shyamal

TEAMS STILL NOT WORKING ON MAC!!

As the COVID-19 sweeps the world, we need to use teams more and more yet despite this the known issue which still stops us from utilising what was a good tool still continues.

All of the workarounds have done nothing other than cause even more headaches and loss of time.

    WHEN will this be fixed?

We have 7,800 employees using 365, the majority using teams to work.....I have 160 MAC users currently unable to share anything, which is the entire point of using Teams.....

Why is this taking so long and why is it that seemingly MS has no capability to resolve what you would consider a huge problem affecting a scary percentage of their customer base?!

    C

    Hi folks,

I had the same issue as many on the thread.  I was unable to share my screen on a MacBook Pro, even though I had enabled the screen recording and File access.

Here's what I tried and it worked.

    • Make sure Teams is closed / not running
    • Go to System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Full Disk Access
    • Unlock (in the lower left)
    • Grant full disk access to Teams

Next, open Terminal and run this code:

    tccutil reset ScreenCapture com.microsoft.teams

    • Go back to System Preferences
    • Select to System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Screen Recording
    • Make sure to Unlock (in lower left)
    • Enable screen recording for MS Teams
    • Click the lock

    Then

    - Open Teams

    - Cross your fingers

    - Try to share your screen

    Should work :-)
