Microsoft Teams Status - Desktop and Mobile

I have recently received Microsoft Teams access as part of my Office pack.

I noticed that with the mobile app logged in, the status is constantly showing "Available" even when i am not active.

This means anyone looking for me would believe that i am available.

Is there no way to set it to show as away or at least a separate status that states "mobile" when we are not active on the desktop App of teams?

It is highly annoying to have to amend the status manually.

I had to right click on the app icon on my desktop and click on sign out. I'm on a Mac so after that I take the additional step to ensure the app is fully closed. After re-opening the app status is now properly set from Desktop app.

I do agree with general sentiment here, it would be nice if there was just a setting on mobile that allowed you to not let mobile set the status. A checkbox I can toggle on/off would have more easily resolved this situation.

Oh my god I'm having this EXACT same issue. It's TERRIBLE.

My team thinks I'm always away when I'm sitting there working unless I happen to ACTUALLY be away and check Teams from my phone.

Microsoft support has been absolutely USELESS for this problem. They act like it doesn't exist. They act like it's MY fault.

I've tried all the sign-out/sign-in tricks and such, nothing works. I've been stuck with this issue since last November.

@MICROSOFT, PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY.

Microsoft simply does not care
They do whatever they want & unless a Majority of BUSINESS (read where they make $$) complain, then they don't care
I work for a large Company around Boston MA (80k employees), and this issue has come up, but no one really cares to escalate it
Microsoft recently changed the layout of webmail & moved the READ/Trash etc. menu to the FAR right & you can't move it

The basic non-reply - report it & if enough people complain they might change it
